More than 600,000 new AI enabled data centre jobs are being created worldwide as companies race to build the compute behind modern AI.
Not just engineers
The roles span construction, electrical and cooling specialists, network engineers and round the clock operations technicians. Many do not require a computer science degree, which makes the build out one of the more accessible parts of the AI economy.
For regions that host the new facilities, the build out is one of the clearest examples of AI creating work rather than removing it, though questions about energy and water use follow close behind.
